David’s campaigns for clients are effective. David Hevey’s The Creatures Time Forgot: Photography & Disability Imagery book and imagery-series set the representation agenda in the 1990s for disabled people, and his landmark series, The Disabled Century film and tv-series, set the visual and story agenda for disabled people in the early 21st Century.
David’s empowerment and diversity work has been screened, exhibited or lectured upon in practically every UK Cultural Institution, including the NFT, the National Media Centre, the ICA, the Late Review, the BBC, the Open University, the Hayward Gallery, the BFI and so on.

Produced by Shape London, opened by the Mayor at London’s City Hall, and designed to tour nationally to the UK’s & European partliaments, this was the exhibition that asked the viewer to look up to disabled people, through giant photographs of disabled, diverse and different people.

Arts Council England funded, David Hevey’s controversial 3-part moving-image series about the death of hope for outsiders in cutslandscape, New Grim Britain today – this is the series about outsiders resisting obsolescence through story. The trilogy includes Tina & The Death Of Hope In Grim Britain, and is playing across lengths, distribution networks and platforms.
